RB Salzburg head coach Jesse Marsch is thought to be on Borussia Dortmund’s wishlist, should they decide to part ways with Lucien Favre this summer.

According to SportBILD, it is unlikely that Lucien Favre will stay at Borussia Dortmund beyond the end of the season, despite receiving backing from both Michael Zorc and Hans Joachim Watzke in recent days. The Black and Yellows’ poor performances in decisive matches over the last two years is said to be one of the reasons why the BVB bosses are considering a new head coach for next season.

SportBILD mention two names who are being considered as possible replacements if Favre is sacked by Borussia Dortmund in the summer.

One of those names is RB Salzburg head coach Jesse Marsch. The 46 year old, who was the co-trainer of RB Leipzig last season, is considered to be one of the most promising young coaches in the world. He is known for his fast-paced, aggressive tactics, and his motivational abilities to get the best out of his players.

Marsch also coached Erling Haaland for six months, before the striker joined Borussia Dortmund in January.

The other name reportedly being considered is Niko Kovac. The former Bayern Munich and Eintracht Frankfurt head coach is said to have a good relationship with those in charge at Borussia Dortmund. His brother and assistant coach, Robert Kovac also spent 18 months at the Westfalenstadion during his playing career.
