Aubameyang has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal throughout this week. As the rumours continue, Peter Stöger has issued a statement about the player ahead of the game against SC Freiburg this weekend.
The Gunners made an inquiry regarding the player’s availability last week. Fueling the rumours, the 28-year old striker did not feature against Hertha Berlin last weekend. Borussia Dortmund boss Peter Stöger is said to be unhappy with the player’s attitude and is willing to let him go this winter. But in a recent interview, the manager revealed that the player could make his return this weekend.

Stöger wants to make sure that Aubameyang’s situation at Dortmund must not affect the team in anyway. In case, he sees that happen, the Black and Yellows manager won’t hesitate to drop him from the squad.
“Today is Wednesday and everything is fine by me. If I had the impression that he would disturb the team then I would react differently.”
“If I get the impression nearer to Saturday that it’s disturbing the team then I won’t select him for the squad.”
At the beginning of this week, Aubameyang was seen with a packing box while leaving a Dortmund training session. It looked like the Arsenal deal was done and dusted but the clubs are far from agreement.
Arsenal completed the transfer of Henrikh Mkhitaryan this weekend which saw Sanchez go to Manchester United. Arsene Wenger is need of a striker now and wants to bring Aubameyang to the Emirates by the end of this month.
The Gunners made an initial offer of €50 million for the player, which was immediately rejected. BVB want at least €60 million for Aubameyang and would also like to have Oliver Giroud.
Yesterday, Arsenal upped their offer to €58 million. Reports suggest that the offer was rejected once as Dortmund are unwilling to budge on their asking price. It will be interesting to see if Aubameyang completes his move to Arsenal this winter.
