Borussia Dortmund set to tour the United States of America in the summer

Borussia Dortmund are set to travel to the United States of America for their 2018 pre-season tour.

The Black and Yellows are set to take part in the International Champions Cup in preparation for the 2018-19 season. Borussia Dortmund will also face newly formed Major League Soccer club Los Angeles FC.

The opponents for the International Champions Cup will be announced before the end of the season. While the date and time for the game against LAFC will also be announced soon.

A BVB delegation was in the United States to check out LAFC’s Banc of California Stadium, which is set to be opened in April, ahead of the new MLS season. A section of the stadium was inspired by Dortmund’s Yellow Wall at the Signal Iduna Park.

The match will also provide an opportunity for fans to watch USA international and Borussia Dortmund star Christian Pulisic in action. Pulisic is a big draw in the United States and will create a great buzz ahead of the game.

Borussia Dortmund have spent their last few pre-seasons in Asia and this trip marks their first to the USA. Der BVB have a great fanbase in the country, with many different cities having their own fan clubs. And those fans will be hoping to catch their beloved Black and Yellows in action come July.

According to rumors, Dortmund could face German rivals Bayern Munich in Chicago. While they could face more big clubs, with America set to play host to some of the most star studded names in the beautiful game once again next summer.

With it being a World Cup year, many of the stars could miss out on the pre-season tour. But Borussia Dortmund, who are likely to have a new manager next season, will be hoping for ideal preparations ahead of the 2018-19 season.
