Borussia Dortmund Loan update: Gomez, Toprak, Wolf, Schurrle, Passlack, Toljan
Marius Wolf
Borussia Dortmund sent Marius Wolf to Hertha Berlin this season and have already clashed against him once, with one more game still to come. Marius Wolf is a solid Bundesliga player, he’s just not quite the caliber of starter Borussia Dortmund needs. While he could play a solid depth role, he wants to actually play which led to his loan to Berlin.
Wolf started out his loan spell very strong, scoring once and adding 2 assists in his first 5 games with Hertha. He started 10 straight games before he started to see his playing time drop recently. Since the coaching change Jurgen Klinsmann has preferred to play Lukas Klunter in the right-back role over Wolf.
It will be interesting to see if Wolf regains his spot in the starting XI before returning to Dortmund. Although he isn’t likely to carve out a role with Dortmund in the coming seasons in order for Dortmund to be able to get a fee for him, Wolf needs to prove he can be a starter on a team like Hertha.
