Match Preview: All eyes on Erling Haaland as Borussia Dortmund take on Augsburg

Team News

Borussia Dortmund will be without the injured Thomas Delaney, Marcel Schmelzer and Tobias Raschl. Paco Alcacer and Dan Axel Zagadou will also be absent, as they weren’t part of the traveling squad to Augsburg.

But Thorgan Hazard, Marco Reus and Erling Haaland trained all week, and are set to feature. Haaland is expected to start the game on the bench, but could come on to make his Borussia Dortmund debut. Youngster Gio Reyna is also set to be part of the squad, Lucien Favre confirmed in his press conference before the game.

Augsburg have a number of injury concerns of their own, with Sergio Córdova, Alfred Finnbogason, Simon Asta, Raphael Framberger and Fabian Giefer all out with injuries. While Iago is away with Brazil for a pre-Olympics tournament.

Augsburg: Koubek – Lichtsteiner, Gouweleeuw, Jedvaj, Max – Khedira, Baier – Richter, Jensen, Vargas – Niederlechner

Borussia Dortmund: Bürki – Hakimi, Akanji, Hummels, Guerreiro – Brandt, Witsel – Reus, Sancho, Hazard – Götze
