Borussia Dortmund made several big signings this summer and in January. Over halfway through the 2019/2020 season, they have made a big impact on the team’s performances and results.

Borussia Dortmund took a much different approach to the transfer period this summer investing significantly in more established players rather than young, inexpensive prospects. Most of their transfers weren’t made with the idea of big future returns but with the idea of winning now. They then followed the summer up by bringing in Erling Haaland and Emre Can to further boost the squad in January.

It was a step in the right direction as Dortmund are finally at a spot financially that they can buy for the now and prioritize short term over the long term, now that they are in a more sustainable position.

Here we will take a look at how Borussia Dortmund’s summer signings have fared so far this year.
