Expected Borussia Dortmund starting XI vs Hoffenheim: Jadon Sancho to return?
By Tom Rodgers
Forwards: Gio Reyna, Jadon Sancho, Erling Haaland
Reyna has made an excellent start to the new season, scoring two goals and providing four assists. And he will be hoping to pick up right where he left off before the international break.
It will be interesting to see who gets the nod to start alongside Reyna in the second striker role. Jadon Sancho is back after missing the last two games, and could slot right back into the line-up. But he did only return to training on Thursday afternoon, and could start on the bench as a result.
If Sancho isn’t ready to start, Marco Reus is a more than capable alternative. Reus will be fresh and available for selection after not being involved during the international break. The talisman will be keen to keep up his progress as he not too long ago returned from a lengthy lay-off with injury on the left-hand side.
Erling Haaland will start up top, as long as he is 100% match fit. The Norwegian forward has been in sensational form, not only for Dortmund but also for Norway as he netted a hat-trick while on international duty against Romania.
Haaland currently has four goals in three games in the Bundesliga and he will be looking to carry on this form heading into a busy stretch for his side.
