Center-Backs: Lukasz Piszczek, Mats Hummels, Manuel Akanji

Borussia Dortmund will likely be forced into another defensive rejig with Lukasz Piszczek and Manuel Akanji likely joining Mats Hummels in the heart of the defence. With Emre Can having to undergo quarantine after testing positive for COVID-19, Lucien Favre is once again short on numbers at the back.

Akanji has himself just recovered from COVID-19, but hopefully he is fit and ready to go from the start. He has been solid if not spectacular so far this season. So having him back is a big boost for the Black and Yellows.

Lukasz Piszczek will likely slot in at the right side of the back three, unless Favre decides to go with defensive midfielder Thomas Delaney on the left with Akanji then switching to the right.

With Schalke struggling to score goals at the moment, the Dortmund back three will see plenty of the ball as Borussia Dortmund play out from the back.
