Borussia Dortmund will look to bounce back in the Champions League on Wednesday against Lazio after their disappointing loss to FC Köln in the Bundesliga.

Borussia Dortmund are fresh off an embarrassing defeat to FC Köln, handing the Billy Goats their first win in 18 games. It was a 2-1 loss in which Dortmund controlled the majority of the game but weren’t able to capitalize on their chances. Poor decision making and laboured build up play had them controlling possession but unable to do much offensively. The Black and Yellows now have the chance to seal their progress to the Champions League round of 16 as well as top Group F.

Borussia Dortmund fell flat on Saturday but they have a great chance to bounce back in the Champions League as they come up against Lazio. After a strong start out of the international break, racking up back to back wins, Dortmund’s winning run came to an end against Koln. With a win against Lazio on Wednesday, Dortmund would not only seal their spot in the round of 16 but lock down first place in Group F.

Lazio haven’t been in the best form themselves, winning only two of their previous five outings. In their previous game in the Champions League, Lazio beat Zenit 3-1 with goals from Ciro Immobile and Marco Parolo. More recently, Lazio suffered a 3-1 defeat against Udinese in Serie A, clawing back a single goal off a penalty after going down 3-0.
