Team News

Borussia Dortmund will have to make do without long-term absentees Roman Bürki (shoulder), Thomas Meunier (knee), Axel Witsel (achilles tendon), Thorgan Hazard (muscle), Dan-Axel Zagadou (hamstring) and Marcel Schmelzer (rehab after surgery). Mats Hummels could make his return to the side though, having missed Tuesday’s game with a knee injury.

Raphael Guerreiro and Maco Reus should also return after being rested for the game against Paderborn. It will be interesting to see what formation Edin Terzic goes with this weekend. He went with a back three on Tuesday, but with Hummels potentially returning, we should see Dortmund revert to a back four.

Freiburg do not have too many injury concerns in their ranks, but Roland Sallai und Chang-Hoon Kwon will miss the game with injuries.

SC Freiburg: Müller – Lienhart, Schlotterbeck, Gulde – Kübler, Santamaria, Höfler, Günter – Höler, Grifo – Demirovic

Borussia Dortmund: Hitz – Morey, Akanji, Hummels, Guerreiro – Delaney, Bellingham – Sancho, Reus, Reyna – Haaland
