3. Roger Schmidt

Another “Gegenpressing” embracing manager comes in the name of Roger Schmidt. The 50-year-old German coach most recently coached at Bayer Leverkusen (2014-17) before getting sacked earlier this year.

Schmidt’s teams are always fun to watch. Under the command of Schmidt, Leverkusen kept the field crowded near the ball, limiting easy passes for the opposition. Bayer Leverkusen also took a lot of shots every match during his tenure.

Although Schmidt is not the top choice to replace Tuchel in my eyes, he is a candidate who is worthy of a look.
