5 Transfers That Could Make the Difference for Dortmund Next Year

Mohamed Salah (24); Roma
It seems not a season goes by where Marco Reus doesn’t miss time due to injury. Certainly, it must be frustrating for Dortmund and Reus to not get a full season out of the German. When fit, there aren’t many forwards in Europe better than Marco.
But not everything is perfect in the Westfalenstadion, and Dortmund must prepare for life without Reus, evident by the outrageous signing of Andre Schurrle last summer from Wolfsburg.
Roma’s “Egyptian Messi” is the perfect candidate to fill in for Reus when out, and still, offers enough quality to start when the German international is fit.
Mohamed Salah transferred to Rome last summer after a successful loan spell with the club the year before. Chelsea never took advantage of Salah’s capabilities, another transfer Jose Mourinho botched. The move paid dividends as Salah quickly rose as one of Serie A’s best forwards.
Salah performs his magic around the penalty area which suits Dortmund’s offense well. The 24-year-old plays a vital role leading Roma to a 2nd place finish with 17 goals and 12 assists for “the Wolves.” Salah’s versatility allows him to play anywhere along the Dortmund front-line; it wouldn’t take long for him to gel with the others.
