Giovanni Reyna makes his Bundesliga debut

Another debutant took the field for Dortmund in this roller coaster of a game away to Augsburg. American teenager Giovanni Reyna came on late in the second half to become the youngest American to ever play in the Bundesliga.

His exploits in Marbella during Borussia Dortmund’s winter training camp impressed the club enough to have him promoted to the senior team. While his contributions during the game weren’t immense, Reyna’s passing was quite good.

He also cut out an opposition pass late in the game, and connected well with Reus to help set up Haaland’s third goal. The player is only 17 however and has time to develop into an integral part of the team, as many expect him to do.

The second half of the season will likely see Favre blood the teenager slowly, giving him a taste of the league so that he can play a larger role in the not so distant future.
