Match Preview: Borussia Dortmund to host FC Koln in Friday night game
Players to Watch
Borussia Dortmund’s attack will be lethal once more with the addition of Erling Haaland. If he is getting the start, which seems likely at this point he will be the focal point of the Borussia Dortmund attack. After scoring a hat-trick in the second half of his first substitute appearance, all eyes will be on the Norwegian.
Marco Reus had a very tough outing against Augsburg, with several great chances falling on his feet only to miss wide and over the net over and over. It was very uncharacteristic of the Dortmund talisman and I would bet on a bounce back game for the German International. Jadon Sancho picked up right where he left off before the break, scoring and assisting one in the Augsburg game. I would expect more of the same from Sancho in this one who seemingly can’t be stopped right now.
Köln head coach Markus Gisdol has promised that he will park the bus to combat Dortmund’s attacking threat, so they aren’t likely to have much of the ball. But Jhon Cordoba is the man to watch for Köln, he has been extremely dangerous in recent weeks. With four goals in his last four appearances, he is a driving force behind FC Köln’s recent success.
