Previous Meeting: FC Köln 1-3 Borussia Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund survived a scare to beat FC Köln 3-1 when the two sides met back in August. Dominick Drexler took advantage of poor defending by Dortmund to give the Billy Goats the lead in the first half. Köln looked the better side for the majority of the opening 45, and came close to adding to the lead on a couple of occasions.

Lucien Favre’s side finally woke up in the second half, and late goals from Jadon Sancho, Achraf Hakimi and Paco Alcacer helped them turn things around.

The win helped Borussia Dortmund make it two wins out of two in the Bundesliga, and they will be hoping for another similar result on Friday.
