Players to Watch

Only nine players have scored more goals in the Bundesliga than Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland, despite the fact that the Norwegian international has played only six games. Haaland has made an immense difference in Borussia Dortmund’s title bid, and he will be looking to take advantage of Freiburg’s recent defensive woes this weekend.

Fellow January signing Emre Can has also become an influential figure since moving to Borussia Dortmund. The German international does all the dirty work, giving those in front of him more freedom to prosper. He will be key against Freiburg, who like to defend deep and play a physical brand of football.

Freiburg have found goals hard to come by in recent weeks. But if anyone can get them out of this scoring rut, its their record scorer Nils Petersen. The 31 year old has netted eight goals so far this season, and will be aiming to test Borussia Dortmund’s oft-sloppy defence.
