Borussia Dortmund vs Schalke 04 – October 24th (Bundesliga)

The first Revierderby of the season will take place on October 24th with a home game for Borussia Dortmund. It will be interesting to see what happens in the derby as it will be unlike all others for a couple reasons.

First off, it will be different due to the amount of fans allowed in the stadium as it won’t have it’s normal atmosphere. It won’t quite be the same without 80,000 screaming supporters. But hopefully at least some supporters will be allowed to attend the game.

Secondly, Schalke is far and away the worst team in the Bundesliga thus far this season. Schalke have started the season with three defeats and have scored just once and conceded 15 goals in that span. There hasn’t been this big of a quality disparity between the teams in recent history, so it will be interesting to see if Dortmund are able to just walk over Schalke, or if the Royal Blues are able to bring their level up with the intensity of the game.
