More dominance from Erling Haaland

Its only been two games since the most recent international break, and Haaland has already scored six goals. After scoring four goals in a 33 minute spell last time out against Hertha Berlin, the Borussia Dortmund striker added a brace to continue his momentum. The recent forms taken his season tally up to 17 goals in 13 games, with ten of those goals coming in the last four.

The first goal was a typical Haaland finish. After forcing a turnover, Haaland quickly got in between the Brugge defenders to run in behind. Sancho put him through on goal and there was little doubt on the following result. Haaland hesitated before shooting, allowing the near-post to open up. From there he calmly found the net, with his shot going in off the post.

His second was a mix of being in the right place at the right time and a great first time finish. Thorgan Hazard was running into the area, and his pass to Jude Bellingham was blocked by a Brugge defender. Despite having his back to goal, Haaland quickly reacted with an emphatic first time finish on the turn. Given his body position, it was a highly impressive finish and quick thinking from the 20 year old.

The showing was another example of Haaland’s continued growth since he’s joined the club. He looks even more clinical than he did last season, and his improved movement in the final third is seeing him find more opportunities than he did previously. He scored 10 goals in his first Champions League campaign, and with his current pace it would not be surprising to see him pass that soon.
