Midfield: Thomas Delaney, Jude Bellingham

With Axel Witsel out injured, Thomas Delaney has seized the opportunity to cement himself as Borussia Dortmund’s best defensive midfielder. He has quietly been one of the team’s best players in recent weeks and has thoroughly deserved starting ahead of the other options.

Following Julian Brandt’s disappointing performance last weekend, which saw him get replaced by Jude Bellingham at half time, the 17 year old could return to the starting XI against Hoffenheim. Bellingham will be looking to impress and stake a claim for a starting berth for next week’s game against Sevilla.

Mahmoud Dahoud could be another option for Edin Terzic. The German international enjoyed a decent cameo off the bench against Freiburg, which could put him in the frame to start.
