Crucial games coming up for Marcel Sabitzer and Julian Ryerson

Meanwhile, Austria and Norway are in a three-horse race for a promotion to League A. Both teams and Slovenia are currently at 7 points with two rounds left to play. Marcel Sabitzer’s Austria will fancy their chances as they travel to already relegated Kazakhstan before a home game against Benjamin Šeško’s Slovenia.

Norway are set to play a decisive game in Slovenia before finishing up the group stage at home against Kazakhstan. After making his return from an adductor injury in Borussia Dortmund’s defeat at Mainz, Julian Ryerson could once again play as a right midfielder in Ståle Solbakken’s old-fashioned 4-4-2.

With his five goals against Ethiopia in October, Serhou Guirassy is top of the scoring charts in the AFCON 2025 qualifiers. But since Guinea lost the first two games without the striker, he’ll need to be at his best in the reverse fixtures against table-toppers DR Congo and Tanzania.

Meanwhile, Ramy Bensebaini and Algeria have already completed their homework, winning all four of their games so far with an impressive goal difference of 11:1. The much-improved left-back scored the penalty that secured qualification with a 1-0 win in Togo last month. The Desert Warriors will end their qualifying campaign with games against Equatorial Guinea and Liberia.
