10. Lothar Huber (372 appearances)

Kicking off this list with a bang is club legend Lothar Huber. Having spent his entire season in the Bundesliga, the former defender is mostly recognised for his time with Dortmund. Making an astonishing 372 appearances for Dortmund across 13 seasons, Huber rightly earns his place in this list, having retired at the club in 1987.

In at joint-eighth place in this list is the Dortmund legend of more recent times, Lukasz Piszczek. The Poland international defender played for Dortmund during the Jurgen Klopp era and amassed an impressive 382 appearances across all competitions.

Tied with Piszczek in 8th place is Dieter Kurrat, the legendary midfielder who represented Borussia Dortmund between the 1960s and 70s. Kurrat became a club legend for his versatility and high-energy playing style. Sadly, Dieter Kurrat passed away in 2017, but his legacy has been imprinted into the famous Borussia Dortmund archives forever.

Brazilian left-back Dedê is widely regarded as one of the best defenders to ever play for Borussia Dortmund. However, to label Dedê as simply a "defender" would not do him justice. Stefan Reuter is a contender for the greatest Borussia Dortmund player of all-time as he certainly spent plenty of time perfecting his craft and making his strides to this title. Reuter played ALL OVER the pitch, showing his commitment to the cause with his all-round ability. Having retired at Dortmund in 2004, Reuter made 421 appearances in total for the club.

4. Marco Reus (429 appearances)

Marco Reus sadly left Borussia Dortmund in 2024, after an incredible 12-year stint. Despite being shown interest by many different clubs, Reus remained a Borussia Dortmund player and became a club legend because of it. In total, Marco Reus made 429 appearances for Borussia Dortmund, his last of which coming in the 2024 UEFA Champions League final.

3. Roman Weidenfeller (453 appearances)

One of Dortmund's most iconic players of all-time, Roman Weidenfeller often went under the radar as being one of the best goalkeepers in Europe during his time. The goalkeeper spent 16 years with Borussia Dortmund and made 453 appearances in total. He won two Bundesliga titles during his time in front of the Yellow Wall.

The first of two members in Dortmund's 500 club, Mats Hummels is a club legend who spent most of his career flittering between Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund. The player to make the most appearances in history for Borussia Dortmund is the well-known and respected former player Michael Zorc, who made 572 appearances in total for Borussia Dortmund. Playing for Dortmund for 18 years and serving as a one-club man, Zorc's commitment to Dortmund is admirable.
