Tuchel Out? Five Men Who Can Replace Him
By Aidan Reagh
4. Andre Schubert
To continue to a different manager out of a job, we turn our eyes to Andre Schubert, most recently of Borussia Monchengladbach.
The 45-year-old German took over a Borussia Monchengladbach side that was in the midst of rebuilding and led them to a respectable position in his first season.
Schubert is incredibly experimental in his lineups but tends to hold a three-man back line commonly. The three-man back line fits what Thomas Tuchel has been applying in recent weeks. If Schubert were to take over, it might be a relatively smooth transition.
However his average of 1.41 points per match with Monchengladbach is significantly lower than Tuchel’s 2.12 points per match with Borussia Dortmund. This under-performing by Schubert could be a sign of a weaker squad, or it could be a sign of being an inferior manager.
