By Aidan Reagh
Raphael Guerreiro
The day is June 16th, 2016. A Portuguese left back from FC Lorient signs for Borussia Dortmund for a reported €12 million. Move forward to today. A season has passed, and Raphael Guerreiro has achieved considerable success for his new club.
Guerreiro, much like Durm, spent time split between both the fullback position and the midfield position, but unlike Durm, he did very well. When played in the midfield, Guerreiro did very well dropping back and supporting the defense. When played as a fullback, Guerreiro did very well going forward and helping the offense.
In his 24 Bundesliga appearances, the versatile youngster found his name on the score-sheet nine times (6 goals, three assists) and maintained a 7.2 match rating. Thomas Tuchel made the most of the under the radar transfer and the world can only sit back and watch Raphael Guerreiro’s exciting career blossom.
