7- Marc Bartra: 31 games, 1 goal, 4 assists.

I could have gone with Shinji Kagawa, Łukasz Piszczek or Roman Burki. But the Spaniard’s turnaround from a frustrating start at BVB should not go unnoticed. Marc Bartra made a move from FC Barcelona last summer and in the second half of the season blossomed into what we all expected. It took time for Bartra to adapt but now we see why many considered him a bargain for only 8,00 Mill. €.

The 26-year-old fit Borussia Dortmund’s offense like a glove. The man from Sant Jaume dels Domenys contributed the same number of assists this campaign as Mats Hummels did last year, even though the German played 20 more games. Bartra did sit out some time due to the injuries sustained in the bus attack before Dortmund’s Champions League tie vs. Monaco, but seamlessly picked up where he left off against Werder Bremen with a 7.7 match rating per WhoScored.

Putting everything behind him, Bartra seems to be a major name on the team sheet each week for Dortmund. It is easy to see why he’s become a fan favorite amongst the Dortmund supporters displaying the same amount of passion off the pitch as well as off the pitch.
