Sokratis Papastathopoulos

It goes without saying that Sokratis is a starter. He is our Greek wall in the defense. In the last few seasons, since the departure of Mats Hummels to Bayern Munich, Sokratis has taken on a more leading role at the club. This means on and off the pitch. Not only has he become a leader for the back-line, he has also defended BVB when Dembele was on strike.

He is an aggressive fighter, and is willing to take one for the team. He loves going into tackles and putting his body on the line. Sometimes this comes in the form of tactical fouls that earn him yellow cards, but he is willing to do it for Dortmund.
