1. Bayern look weaker this season

Despite winning the Bundesliga five times in a row, Bayern have showed signs of slipping up this season. Bayern endured a tough pre-season in Asia, with injuries dampening their preparations for the season. And following two wins to start the season, Bayern suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Hoffenheim, which dropped the German giants to fifth place.

Der BVB currently lead the table with seven points after a disappointing draw against Freiburg. Despite the draw, Dortmund still have not conceded a goal and it is looking very likely that Bayern could be dropping more points as they have a very busy schedule including a Champions League match against Anderlecht.

Dortmund have shown that they are more than capable of beating Bayern Munich in important matches. In the 2017 German Super cup, they lost to Bayern in penalties after an own goal by Roman Burki in the 88th minute.

Make no mistake, Bayern Munich are still the favorites to win the league and boast the best squad in the Bundesliga. However if they show any signs of faltering, Borussia Dortmund will very likely be well placed to swoop in and win the Bundesliga crown this season.
