BVB fans may like Mats Hummels since leaving the club in 2016, but there is no denying that without him the club would not have reached the heights they did under Jurgen Klopp. During his time with the club, Hummels was a leader and a defensive general. He was a rock at the back and did everything with great composure and commitment.

He appeared in 237 matches for Dortmund during his time at the club. The end of the 2015-2016 campaign saw Hummels transfer back to his original club for the fee of £31.50 million. He won two Bundesliga titles and became one of the world’s best defenders at Borussia Dortmund. Hummels is a true Dortmund legend and his achievements and contributions make him one of the club’s best ever signings in recent times.
