Central Midfield: Michael Zorc

Another true Dortmund great, Michael Zorc spent his entire playing career with the club. He made his debut in 1981 and notched up 561 appearances in his 17 years at the club. Zorc saw it all and he won it all. He scored 155 goals, mostly due to his excellent penalty taking abilities, which has him third on the all-time goalscorers list for Borussia Dortmund.

Zorc was a real leader both on and off the pitch, captaining the side from 1989 to 1997. He won two Bundesliga titles, the UEFA Champions League, the DFB-Pokal and the Intercontinental Cup with Borussia Dortmund.

After retiring in 1998, he became the director of football at the club and did a remarkable job of building some very talented squads before retiring in 2022.

Michael Zorc bleeds BVB through and through. He has been at the club for all his professional career and he is a true legend.
