Bayern Munich are yet to reach their best under Jupp Heynckes

Despite what the results show, there is still quite a bit of work to be done by the 72-year-old Heynckes on this Bayern side. Having taken charge half-way through the season, Jupp is yet to impose his style on the team. The old guard that won everything under the German has started to reach the twilight of their career. Players like Robben and Ribery, who used to lead the charge, have become secondary players in recent years despite their huge personalities.

Jupp is yet to stamp his presence on the squad and needs to accommodate players he didn’t choose. It’ll be a while before Bayern are firing on all cylinders and Dortmund are equipped to take advantage of the situation. With players like Dahoud, Weigl and Gotze, BVB can go toe-to-toe against the likes of Thiago Alcantara and Arturo Vidal and win the midfield battle.

Bosz has a massive advantage with his personnel and he should make the most of it.
