Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang vs Mats Hummels

The two former teammates are set to be involved in an important battle on Saturday. Aubameyang has failed to score in his last four games and is enduring his first goal drought for Borussia Dortmund in a while. However, he is still the leading goalscorer in the Bundesliga with ten goals and will be hoping to add to his tally against Bayern Munich.

Meanwhile, Hummels is enjoying a resurgence under Heynckes, just like the rest of his Bayern teammates. The Bavarians have yet to concede in the league since the 72-year old’s appointment. And Hummels will be hoping to lead his side to their fourth successive clean-sheet in the league.

The German defender will also have the added pressure of playing against his former club. The Yellow Wall will not be kind to their former club captain. And that could give Aubameyang a chance to take advantage.

The Gabon international is due a goal, and scoring in Dortmund’s biggest game of the season so far will ease all the pressure on him. And if Hummels can keep him quiet, Bayern will be confident of securing their fourth league win on the trot.
