10. Andriy Yarmolenko

Yarmolenko joined the club to replace Ousmane Dembele this summer. While he has shown flashes of brilliance, he has shown more disappointment. He has been guilty of missing easy chances in recent games and has often frustrated fans. His lack of defensive work-rate also needs to be pointed out. Yarmolenko’s poor performance against Bayern will take a lot of work to erase. The 28-year old must step up after the international break if he is to justify the fee Borussia Dortmund paid for him.

9. Dan-Axel Zagadou

The 18-year-old Zagadou has been one of the shining lights of the season so far. While he has shown to be still adapting to the Bundesliga, Zagadou has done a great job of defending. He can be a defensive wall when playing and he’ll become better as time goes on. Still only 19, the Frenchman can be a rock at the back for years to come.

8. Sokratis

Sokratis has played almost every game for Dortmund this season. He has also added greatly defensively and leads the team from the back. It’s a shame his decision making has lead to two yellow cards and a questionable red card. He has failed to perform this season as well all know he can. Another player who needs to step up after the international break.

7. Nuri Sahin

Sahin has performed consistently for Borussia Dortmund this season. The 29-year old has made 13 appearances for the club so far this season, and has become an important player under Peter Bosz. His lack of pace is a worry though, as Dortmund’s tactics have allowed them to be hit by counter attacks. His recent retirement from international duty will help him prolong his club career. He has two goals and one assist in eight league games so far. He is the club’s highest rated player on WhoScored with a rating of 7.69.

6. Marc Bartra

Bratra is a very good defender, most of the time. Recently though, BVB have been forced to play Bratra at right-back. Batra is simply not a right back, as his performances have proved. But he does not give up when in the position. He is simply out of position, although, he has scored 2 times this season. Bartra has been the club’s best defender this season and is set to go to the World Cup with Spain as well. He is proving to be a bargain buy for the club.
