Manuel Akanji

The Switzerland international is enjoying a stunning breakthrough season with FC Basel and has shown his prowess in the Champions League this season. His man of the match performance in his side’s 1-0 win over Manchester United helped Basel qualify for the Round of 16.

The towering center back would be a great addition for Borussia Dortmund. And with Liverpool also interested in him, the club must move quickly to sign him.\

The 22-year old has great pace and strength and is well suited to the physical demands of the German Bundesliga. Akanji is another player who may need some time at first to settle in.

But there is no question that he has the quality to become a top class defender for Borussia Dortmund for years to come. The Black and Yellows have been atrocious in defense at times. And a move for Akanji could help them become more solid at the back.
