Laura grew up in a sport loving family in Thuringia, Germany. And she immediately became drawn to Borussia Dortmund. Her love for the club has grown over the years and she has also met with many of the current Dortmund stars.

How did you become a Borussia Dortmund fan?

Although I grew up in a family where sports were definitely embraced and watched regularly, my parents were always rather neutral spectators. I was about 11 or 12 years old when I really started to get into football and started to spend more time watching both national team and Bundesliga matches.

Since that happened around 2011/12 with, in my opinion, one of our greatest and most successful squads ever, it’s probably not much of a surprise that Dortmund were the team that impressed and fascinated me the most and became my favorite team even until today.

What’s been your favorite memory as a Borussia Dortmund fan so far?

There are several great moments very high up on that list: my first time in the stadium or the DFB Pokal win (both of which actually happened quite recently). However, I have one older memory that always stands out to me for some reason: the match (more specifically, the extra time) of our CL quarter-final against Malaga in 2014. The emotions and the drama of those minutes made me connect with the club on a whole new level.

Who is your favorite player at the club?

Of the current squad, it’s Łukasz Piszczek.

Which player would you like to see at Borussia Dortmund?

I like the club’s way of signing young and unknown talents, which is why I don’t really have a transfer in mind…except for a goalkeeper, maybe. I know it’s not likely at all, but I would’ve loved to see someone like Ter Stegen in Dortmund at some point.

Where do you think Borussia Dortmund will finish this season in the Bundesliga and in Europe?

I’ve definitely become more optimistic and confident again that we’ll finish on #2 or #3 of the Bundesliga and secure the CL qualification again. When it comes to the EL, I’d be surprised if we make it further than the quarter-final for some reason. Can’t see us do any better than we have so far this season.
