Borussia Dortmund have been really bad this season. The critics who don’t watch games may be under the delusion that we had a strong start to the season but the truth is far from it.

Since Matchday 1, BVB has been putting on pathetic performances but somehow managed to overcome the opposition with luck and some individual moments of brilliance. It was always going to go down for Der BVB but perhaps even the harshest observers wouldn’t have expected a sacking.

There’s no real cohesion in the squad and Peter Stoger has only now started to show signs of managing an attacking squad. BVB is bland, boring and as things stand, unworthy of winning the Europa League.

It’s not about talent or form for me. It all boils down to simple tactics. A manager like Claudio Ranieri can make someone as average as Jamie Vardy seem world-class. Dortmund currently lacks that charisma and tactical intelligence in the dugout.

No amount of luck can help Dortmund go all the way. If not Salzburg then somebody else will do the inevitable. BVB is destined for a poor season and it will take a squad overhaul to become competitive in Europe again.
