Players on their way out:

Borussia Dortmund needs to refresh their squad after a disappointing season.

Erik Durm & Sebastian Rode – Erik Drum sadly cannot stay healthy neither can Sebastian Rode. Dortmund must look to offload both players.

Andre Schurrle – Dortmund should sell Andre Schurrle because while he can be an effective player, his playing time comes at the expense of younger players (Sancho, Pulisic).

Gonzalo Castro – Gonzalo Castro is a great squad rotation player, but Dortmund needs more than just squad filler.

Andriy Yarmolenko – Dortmund needs to accept their losses and sell Andriy Yarmolenko.

Players to be brought in:

Hirving Lozano – A wild card player that Dortmund can sign is Hirving Lozano of PSV Eindhoven. This is a personal choice because I want to see a Mexican play at Dortmund. Objectively, Lozano is a player who has the pace to burn and can add solid end product and potential to the squad.

Michy Batshuayi – In terms of acquiring players the priority for Dortmund is a left back, a midfielder and a center forward. The permanent acquisition of Michy Batshuayi is crucial because his goal-scoring record since joining Dortmund is phenomenal.

Willian Jose – Willian Jose of Real Sociedad in Spain is an alternative option for the center forward role if Batshuayi is deemed too expensive.

Ander Herrera/Manu Trigueros – In midfield, the ideal acquisition is Ander Herrera. Herrera has fallen out of favor at Manchester United, but he is a technically and tactically sound player. An alternative purchase to Herrera is Manu Trigueros of Villarreal. Trigueros is a similar player to Herrera, but his wages might be a better fit for Dortmund’s spending policies.

Jonas Hector/Ryan Bertrand – At left back the ideal player to come in is Jonas Hector of FC Koln. Hector is a solid left back with a ton of experience in Bundesliga play. An alternative to Hector is Ryan Bertrand of Southampton, but English players rarely leave the premier league.
