Borussia Dortmund has refused to sign an expensive attacker and Philipp is likely to start the preseason as a striker this month in the International Champions Cup. If Dortmund signs a new striker, they will probably be the first name on the sheet. However, Philipp can prove himself as an out-and-out striker this preseason in the eyes of the management.

Andriy Yarmolenko could see some minutes too but will probably be shown the door this transfer window.

André Schürrle and Alexander Isak could see some minutes in the preseason as well but are unlikely to start when the season begins.
