BVB in The Windy City

Apart from a win over Pep Guardiola (which feels particularly good regardless what kind of match it is), the players got their real taste of America after arriving in Chicago, Illinois for the International Champions Cup in July. Christian Pulisic and Maximilian Philipp both spent time with the 2016 World Series winners The Chicago Cubs.

Following a training session, the promotional tour for Borussia Dortmund took off. Pulisic was the main attraction along with stars like Marco Reus and Mario Gotze. It didn’t take away from what others did on the tour. Nuri Sahin, Sebastian Rode, Dan-Axel Zagadou, and Emma partnered with the Special Olympics at the Unified Cup to support the competition.

Pulisic exchanged jerseys with Chicago Bulls player Cristiano Felicio. Lars Ricken enjoyed tailgating for the Manchester City game. It started the first leg of the tour strongly. Borussia Dortmund then looked forward to North Carolina and Liverpool.
