Achraf Hakimi

The Real Madrid loanee is one of the hottest talents in world football but his loan deal makes him a less-likely candidate for the starting role. It wouldn’t be surprising to see him start the season as first-choice. However, the intention behind this deal is to push the current players on the squad to work harder for their minutes.

Jeremy Toljan

Toljan is definitely an interesting player with his ability to use both feet with precision and ease. His lack of form, however, has forced BVB to revisit the market. The goal for this season will be to use Hakimi as a springboard for Toljan to rediscover his lost form and establish himself as a key player.

Lukasz Piszczek

Piszczek was a standout last season as the Polish full-back managed to oust the competition to re-establish himself as the first-choice right-back. When managed properly, he can play a vital role in helping BVB win and phasing him out will be crucial this season.
