Mario Gotze

The German midfielder has been in dazzling form all summer and the competition in midfield has gotten really interesting with Gotze being a serious contender. His chemistry with Marco Reus will be key to a productive season.

Shinji Kagawa

The Japanese midfielder was an undisputed starter last season when fit but his place will be under serious contention this time around. Suggestions of Kagawa’s decline have bene put to rest by the star midfielder but he’ll have to keep proving himself every minute he plays or he’s likely to lose his spot.

Sergio Gomez

Gomez is still very young and any number of minutes which can allow him to develop at the top level will be welcome. He could also be an inclusion on the wings.
