The Swiss keeper has been brought in to take over from the departing Roman Weidenfeller and from his performances in the preseason, one can take comfort in the fact that he is a safe pair of hands. His signing was made on a free transfer but his performances have looked strong. His presence will add a good mentor to Roman Burki who constantly suffers from stretches of inconsistency. These weaknesses have become more persistent and if need be, the veteran can take over and add solidarity between the sticks.
