Axel Witsel (8/10)

Position: DM/CM/CAM

Witsel is probably a luxury signing but his performances so far, and the departure of Nuri Sahin has made me feel that he will add a lot more than previously imagined. Witsel is a defensive midfield but his ability to score and create are well above average. He is a complete midfielder and we can’t say that about anyone else on the team at the moment. He can play a number of positions but currently, he seems to be occupying the deepest role in midfield, shielding the defense, and making late runs into the box. His goal was beautiful to watch and it just shows how acrobatic he can be. Witsel is turning out to be a huge asset already and his role will probably get bigger with time as we see some of the inconsistent performers on the squad (cough*Gotze*cough) fail to impress the new coach.
