In Lucien Favre we trust

Based on how well the team has been doing, almost everyone believes that Lucien Favre can do no wrong. It is impressive because of how long it has been since there was a coach everyone liked at Dortmund. Of course, we can’t expect Favre to run perfect the whole season. Even in a loss, it wouldn’t be hard to imagine Favre finding a solution for the next match.

Favre brought about trust and intelligent football back to Borussia Dortmund. His attention to detail and his tactics are already paying dividends. There is finally a Dortmund manager who has a proper system in place and things are working out really well for him so far. His debut season as manager for the team couldn’t have started any better than it has.

Favre has also expanded his training during international breaks. He takes team members to play in interesting friendly matches with other clubs, giving the fringe players a chance to impress and stake their claim for regular action.

Players are stepping up despite injuries

There are only 3 players listed as injured currently. Marcel Schmelzer, Jeremy Toljan, Manuel Akanji are the players in question. While Paco Alcacer is a doubt ahead of the game. Only Akanji and Alcacer will be missed during their injuries, no offense to Schmelzer or Toljan. The deep squad is great news for the fans and Favre as it allows for different styles and tactics.

Dan-Axel Zagadou is taking his chance as he stands in for Akanji. Zagadou is only making a better case for his name on the team sheet and is showing maturity beyond his years. There is plenty of space for players to get rotated in and out and keep everyone in top form.

Although some players appear to have lost their spot on the team sheet. Shinji Kawaga is one of them and could look for a January exit to get more play time. Mario Gotze is another but after appearing in the last three games, he will be confident of reviving his Dortmund career.

Will the goals keep on coming for Borussia Dortmund?

Borussia Dortmund have scored a total of 26 goals in their last six matches in all competitions. Paco Alcacer, Marco Reus and Jadon Sancho have all been red-hot in recent weeks and it will be interesting to see how their fare against Hertha Berlin. A victory is a victory no matter how it is obtained, but expect the Black and Yellows to keep with high-octane performances against Hertha Berlin.
