2 – Ousmane Dembélé (2016/2017)

Perhaps the most beautiful ‘Der Klassiker’ memory in recent times for Dortmund fans came in the DFB Pokal semi-final a year ago. The Black and Yellows were on level terms with Bayern with only twenty minutes to go.

Raphaël Guerreiro’s dispossession of Philipp Lahm allowed Marco Reus to run freely and with options in an uninhabited Bayern midfield. Reus then passed it left to Guerreiro who returned the ball to the middle and the former found Ousmane Dembélé on the right. The Frenchman cut inside and placed the ball far away from the keeper’s grasp on the top left corner. A brilliantly executed counter culminated by Dembélé gave Dortmund the win and the ticket to the Pokal finale in which they ended up lifting the trophy against Eintracht Frankfurt.
