Jadon Sancho (7/10)

Sancho was dispossessed five times in what was a nightmare first half for the young Englishman. He looked nervous and lacked composure in the first 45, but looked like a completely different player after the break. Sancho was running at players, taking them on and dribbling past them. Should have had two assists but Reus and Alcacer both missed sitters after his stunning runs down the right flank. The 18 year old also did a solid job defensively.

Marco Reus (9.5/10)

Quite simply Borussia Dortmund’s man of the match, Marco Reus ran the show once again for his side. He won and then converted the penalty early in the second half and then leveled things up for his side once again with a sublime volley from 12 yards out. He probably should have had a hattrick as he missed two easy chances either side of half time, but it was yet another captain’s display by Marco Reus. He also helped out defensively once again, winning nine duels and four tackles for his side.

Jacob Bruun Larsen (5/10)

This wasn’t Bruun Larsen’s best game as he often slowed Borussia Dortmund down on the counter attack due to his poor decision making. Was also partly responsible for Bayern’s opener as he failed to close down Serge Gnabry’s who crossed the ball into the box for Lewandowski to score. He did get better after half time but was outshone by the rest of his teammates. A learning experience for the Dane, who will only get better from here.

Mario Gotze (5/10)

Another surprise selection, Gotze struggled to do the job he was asked to do. But to be fair to him, this just wasn’t the game for him and Favre got it wrong by playing him in that role. Dortmund were reliant on counter attacks to create chances but Gotze simply wasn’t able to hold the ball for his teammates. He struggled to cope with the physical presence of Hummels and Boateng, who made sure that Gotze did not get any space. But Gotze still worked hard and did not stop running before he was replaced by Paco Alcacer at the hour mark.
