Achraf Hakimi needs to be made a Dortmund player permanently, now

Achraf Hakimi was yet another standout performer for Borussia Dortmund in Saturday’s game. The young Moroccan international has truly become a mainstay in the starting 11 at left back, despite his natural position being on the right. Hakimi proved once again how crucial he is to both Dortmund’s attack and defense.

His marauding runs up field and fancy footwork left many a Schalke player befuddled, while his passes and dangerous crosses caused problems for what has been a relatively sturdy Schalke backline this season. Hakimi also had a good defensive display, putting in several crucial tackles. In the 22nd minute Hakimi cut the ball out of the air with his leg, stopping a pass to Burgstaller, who was in the box. A similarly pivotal tackle came in the 70th minute, with Hakimi stopping a run made by Amine Harit, which too could have posed a problem for Dortmund.

It is performances like this that make in no surprise that Borussia Dortmund will try and sign the player on a permanent deal from Real Madrid, as per Bleacher Report’s Gianni Verschueren.
