Borussia Dortmund lost their first game of the Bundesliga season against relegation candidates Fortuna Dusseldorf.

Borussia Dortmund came out flat against Fortuna Dusseldorf on match day 16 and dropped what should have been a comfortable 3 points. Borussia Dortmund seemed to take the lead early on when Marco Reus found the back of the net. However, the goal was ruled offside when Pulisic needlessly carried on his run while in an offside position. He needed to jump over the shot and because of that it was deemed offside.

Dusseldorf later took the lead through Dodi Lukebakio, who is in a great run of form already scoring three against Bayern. Jean Zimmer would double their lead with a wonder strike. Borussia Dortmund clawed one back through Paco Alcacer after some wonderful footwork from Jadon Sancho. It was a matter of too little too late for Borussia Dortmund today as they only stepped up their urgency in the final 10 minutes.

Here are the player ratings from todays game.

Roman Burki – 6/10

Roman Burki was scored on twice and it should have been three times if not for a massive miss from Takashi Usami. That being said he had no chance on the second goal and the first one was a clear cut breakaway. His challenge on the breakaway wasn’t the best, he could have made himself bigger in that situation but hard to fault the goalkeeper getting beat on a breakaway.
