Omer Toprak – 7/10

Omer Toprak was brought on at half time when Akanji picked up a knock and had himself a very solid 45 minutes. Definitely one of Dortmund’s best defenders today, and we can only hope he carries this form into the game against Gladbach with both Akanji and Diallo picking up knocks against Dusseldorf.

Jadon Sancho – 7.5/10

An absolute magician with the ball that instantly brought some life to a dead Borussia Dortmund attack. He had a few moments combining with Piszczek on the right hand side that got either himself or Piszczek down low for an opportunity to get a ball into the box. Dortmund’s one goal today came from exactly that. Sancho beat two defenders with some great footwork before sending Piszczek into the Dusseldorf box to find Alcacer with a cross. It was clear today Dortmund’s drop in creativity when Sancho is out of the lineup.

Paco Alcacer – 7/10

Once again, he comes on and he scores. It’s not a question of if anymore but when he will find the back of the net after being brought on. Getting a header on Piszczek’s cross in the 81st minute he gave Borussia Dortmund fans hope as he headed it home to make it 2-1.
