Borussia Dortmund pull off stunning comeback against Bayern

Another contender for the craziest game of the season, this game had absolutely everything. With so much on the line, Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich met at the Signal Iduna Park on November 10 to renew their rivalry. And the two sides did not disappoint in the much anticipated game.

Bayern took the lead midway through the first half thanks to former Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski. The Bavarians were in control for the majority of the first half, while the Black and Yellows missed several key chances.

Dortmund went into the break with a one goal deficit. But just four minutes into the second half, they got the chance to get level when Marco Reus was brought down inside the box by Manuel Neuer. The Dortmund captain stepped up and calmly slotted home the penalty to make it 1-1.

Dortmund’s joy was short-lived however, as Robert Lewandowski made it 2-1 from point blank range just minutes later. Reus and Alcacer both missed big chances to level the scores for Borussia Dortmund, before Marco Reus got his side level once again with an absolute peach of a strike from the edge of the area.

Borussia Dortmund snatched the three points six minutes later when Paco Alcacer got on the end of a gorgeous defense splitting pass by Axel Witsel and coolly finish chipped the ball past Neuer. There was drama late on when Lewandowski’s back heel goal was rightly ruled out for offside.

The home side hung on to secure a massive victory and open up a four point lead over their title rivals.
