Best Signing: Paco Alcacer

This one’s a toss up between Paco Alcacer and Axel Witsel, but the former gets my vote because of how important his goals have been since his arrival.

Alcacer initially joined Borussia Dortmund on a season long loan deal, but it did not take long for the club to take up their option to sign him on a permanent transfer. Such has been his impact since his arrival. The 25 year old has netted 13 times in 16 appearances in all competitions so far, including his match winning hat-trick against Augsburg.

Not only his goals, but his link ups and all round play have also been a joy to watch. A deadly offense of Marco Reus, Jadon Sancho, and Paco Alcacer has been difficult to handle for oppositions. Super sub is one way to imagine Paco Alcacer. He totals at 8 starts and 8 substitute appearances in all competitions, and most of his goals have come from the bench. But Alcacer has proved all his doubters wrong since swapping Spain for Germany.

He currently shares the Bundesliga top scorers spot with Luka Jovic, but don’t bet against him to win the Torjagerkanone this season. Per the BBC, Alcacer’s shots on target ratio (70%) is only bested by teammate Jadon Sancho (82%). Alcacer also averages a goal or assist every 38.83 minutes.

Although he has endured various injuries since joining Borussia Dortmund, Alcacer’s season is still going strong. The former FC Barcelona striker has fit well at the Westfalenstadion and will only get better as the season goes on.
