Biggest Disappointment: Christian Pulisic

Ahead of the season, many expected Christian Pulisic to kick on and finally live up to the hype surrounding his talent. But the American international has struggled with injuries and poor form and has been overtaken by Jadon Sancho, Jacob Bruun Larsen and Raphael Guerreiro in the pecking order. With his Borussia Dortmund career about to come to an end, Pulisic will be hoping to leave on a high.

Most Imporved: Dan Axel Zagadou

There are a number of players who have significantly improved under Lucien Favre, but few have enjoyed a bigger rise than Dan Axel Zagadou. The Frenchman, signed on a free transfer from PSG, struggled to get minutes last season and many doubted his ability to succeed at the club. But this season, he has turned into a beast of a defender and has been putting in dominant performances week in, week out. He is more disciplined, more mature, better positioned and looks like an anchor in defense.

Honorable mentions for the most improved player include Roman Burki, Jacob Bruun Larsen and Raphael Guerreiro.
